Simple guides for common tasks.

How storage structure works

Use this map to understand where data belongs.

Structure Map

Household
  -> Room
      -> Stand
          -> Container
              -> Nested Container
                  -> Item
                      -> Category
Users (people) access and update this shared structure.
  1. Start from a Room.
  2. Create a Stand in that Room when needed.
  3. Create a Container in that Room or on a Stand.
  4. Add Items inside Container and choose Category.

Add multiple items with AR scan

AR scan helps you add many items quickly, and can detect categories if enabled.

  1. Open a Container and choose Add Item.
  2. Use the AR scan action in the item form.
  3. Scan the objects and review detected names.
  4. When AR category detect is enabled, confirm suggested categories.
  5. Save to create items in the current Container.

AR possibilities

AR can identify items and also suggest stand and container name, type, and color.

  1. Open AR camera from stand, container, or item flow.
  2. Capture the stand or container view to get name/type/color suggestions.
  3. Capture items to get item names and category guesses.
  4. Review and edit suggestions before saving.

Find items with search and scan

Use both digital search and physical scanning for fastest results.

  1. Use the top search bar to find by name or category.
  2. Open result and check where the item is located.
  3. If you are near storage, scan container QR to open exact Container page.
  4. Verify item status and mark taken/returned when needed.

Pack Container Flow (all-in-one)

Pack flow combines AR container recognition and AR item scan so placing is easier.

  1. Start Pack Container Flow from container actions.
  2. Run AR container recognition to prefill container details.
  3. Run AR item scan to add many items quickly.
  4. Review best-guess categories and adjust if needed.
  5. Save and continue to QR steps.

Pack nested containers

Use nested containers when one box contains another box.

  1. Create parent Container first.
  2. Inside parent, choose Add nested Container.
  3. Add items to each level where they physically belong.
  4. Print or scan QR codes so each level is easy to open later.

Configure Household

Keep household setup simple so everyone works in the same context.

  1. Set household name and preferred language.
  2. Choose theme and max QR per page.
  3. Enable AR/AI options and confidence level if needed.
  4. Ask members to use the same structure and naming style.

Managed AI scans vs your own API key

Choose between household-managed access or your own OpenAI key.

  1. Managed mode: admin provides a key and sets scan quota for the household.
  2. When managed mode is active, Household settings show remaining scans.
  3. Personal mode: enter your own OpenAI API key in Household settings.
  4. After saving your key, scans use your key and managed quota no longer limits scans.
  5. Costs and usage in personal mode are billed to your OpenAI account.

Extra tips

Small habits that keep inventory clean.

  1. Use clear item names.
  2. Keep categories consistent.
  3. Archive items you no longer store.
  4. Use QR labels on real containers.
